Elliot Soloway is an Arthur F. Thurnau Professor with appointments in the Dept of EECS, College of Engineering, the School of Education, and the School of Information, at the University of Michigan. For the past 10 years, Elliot has been exploring how mobile computing technologies can be effectively used in K-12 classrooms. In 2001, the undergraduates at the University of Michigan selected him to receive the “Golden Apple Award” as the Outstanding Teacher of the Year. In 2004, the EECS College of Engineering HKN Honor Society awarded Elliot the “Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award.” Elliot is a co-founder and CEO of GoKnow Learning, Inc.

Terry Freedman has taught and managed Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in schools, worked at the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority in the UK, held a senior position in a London local education authority, and has been an inspector for ICT and Business Education. Now an independent educational ICT consultant, Terry publishes the ICT in Education website at www.ictineducation.org, and the free online newsletter “Computers in Classrooms”.
He has been engaged in Web 2.0 for several years, and published the highly-acclaimed “Coming of Age: An Introduction to the NEW Worldwide Web in 2006. He has presented at the Training & Development Agency, British Educational Communications and Technology Agency, Specialist Schools and Academies Trust conferences and other events on the subject.
Terry is a member of the UK’s Society of Authors and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Donald G. Knezek, CAE, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE®) is a leader of innovation for transforming education with technology and is recognised globally for his leadership in collaboration, planning and standards development related to technology in schools. Don holds degrees from Dartmouth College, the University of Hawaii and the University of Texas at Austin. In his 28 years as a professional educator, Knezek worked in a variety of academic and administrative settings, including K–12 classroom, district office, university, regional service center, state department of education, and national and international technology organisations. He directed large multi-state projects in the Star Schools and Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers to Use Technology programmes of the U.S. Department of Education.
Dr. Knezek provides leadership around the world, recently working in Brazil, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Costa Rica, France, Germany, India, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Qatar, Singapore, Switzerland, and United Arab Emirates. He is providing consulting services to ministries of education, sharing his valued expertise in preparing education leaders and teachers to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Michael Furdyk is the Co-founder and Director of Technology for TakingITGlobal.org, a global online community for young people, engaging hundreds of thousands of youth in over 200 countries and territories. Michael has spoken to over 50,000 educators about the importance of engaging students and integrating technology and global perspectives into the classroom.
In the past, he has turned his interest in technology into a series of successful online companies, co-founding MyDesktop.com (later sold to Internet.com) and BuyBuddy.com (which raised $4.5 million of venture capital). Over the last few years, Michael has consulted for many Fortune 500 companies, including a 6-month engagement developing youth strategy with Microsoft in Seattle, Washington.
As one of Teen People's ‘20 Teens that will Change the World’, an award that he attained in 2001, Michael has shared his opinions about Youth Engagement and experiences as a member of the Net Generation by speaking at dozens of events, including the World Congress on IT, the US Government's National Youth Summit, Microsoft's Anytime, Anywhere Learning Summits, The Business Council, and TED. He has made numerous media appearances including The Oprah Winfrey Show, Time Magazine, Fast Company, BusinessWeek, CNN, MSNBC, and USA Today. He is a board member and advisor to numerous groups including Microsoft, Pollution Probe, the Anytime, Anywhere Learning Foundation, and several other national and global organisations.
Michael was selected as one of Converge Magazine's ‘Shapers of Our Future’ in 2000 and the Hilton Distinguished Entrepreneur Award in 2001. He achieved the CANARIE IWAY Award for Community Service in 2003 and Honourary ‘Top 20 Under 20’ Award in 2006. Michael was named as one of 10 Tech Revolutionaries Redefining the Power and Face of Philanthropy by Contribute Magazine in 2007.

Jason Trump is the Education Industry Solution Strategist for Public Sector in Microsoft APAC. Based in Singapore, he supports education customers and specialist partners in the APAC region with innovative solutions that support teaching, learning, research and administration. Jason works closely with the Education product group and Education teams across Microsoft APAC to ensure these solutions align closely to the unique needs of the education sector.
Prior to joining the APAC Education team in 2009, Jason worked for Microsoft Australia as the Education Industry Manager, with responsibility for solutions, partners, and customer engagement across schools and higher education. He has held roles in the Australian subsidiary as Education Solutions Specialist and Enterprise Account Manager for education, government, and commercial accounts.
Before joining Microsoft in 2001, Jason held a number of consulting, and information and communication technology (ICT) positions with the Queensland University of Technology. He also spent three years working for NetStar, a network integration company.
Jason graduated from Queensland University of Technology, Australia, with a Bachelor of Information Technology, majoring in Information Management, with additional studies in business fields.

As part of Business Development and Innovation for Pearson Education globally, Dr Adam Black scouts out promising companies, emerging technologies, interesting new products and business models. He connects potential business opportunities in education with the appropriate business unit within Pearson. He sponsors pilot projects and negotiates partnerships or possible acquisitions.
Dr Black has been in business development and educational publishing for 17 years. Starting as an acquisition editor, he led one of Pearson’s most successful and fastest growing publishing units. As an editorial director, his technology teams have brought several of Pearson Education’s very successful web products and underlying platforms into the market.
In addition to sponsoring several recent strategic partnerships, Dr Black works with a variety of companies to develop a suite of pilot projects for mobile and search based educational products in different international markets.

David Warlick’s unique voice and message combine a wide range of experiences, both in and outside the education arena. He ran two businesses before graduating from high school and spent more than a year in manufacturing before completing his undergraduate work. Mr. Warlick worked for nearly ten years as a middle school Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science teacher, during which he also wrote award-winning instructional software and introduced hundreds of teachers to the educational potentials of personal computers.
In 1984, David moved to a central office position, as Director of Technology and then on to the North Carolina State Department of Public Instruction where he served as a technology integration consultant and built the nation’s first state department of education web site.
Since 1995, Mr. Warlick has been the owner and principal consultant of The Landmark Project, a professional development and innovations firm in Raleigh North Carolina. During this time David has spoken at conferences and delivered workshops for educators throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, The Middle East, and South America.
David Warlick has been an innovator and leader in the field of educational technology and a prolific programmer. His classroom blogging site, Class Blogmeister, serves more than 100,000 users, and his attribution tool, Citation Machine, receives more than a half-million page views a day. These and all of his other web tools for teachers are free.
David has also written three books about technology and contemporary literacy, and has contributed to other publications including Technology & Learning Magazine, ALA’s KnowledgeQuest, Education World, and CUE Online, and has been quoted in Education Week, The San Francisco Chronicle, The New York Times, Washington Post, and USA TODAY.

Bernie Trilling is Global Director for the Oracle Education Foundation, directing the development of education strategies, partnerships and services for the Foundation's ThinkQuest programme.
ThinkQuest offers a free, protected online environment for teachers and students around the world to communicate, collaborate on projects, share their ideas and learn together. ThinkQuest also provides a world-renowned international competition where students collaboratively create educational websites for other learners and teachers. Over 7,000 selected websites are housed in the online ThinkQuest Library which is used daily by teachers and students worldwide as an invaluable learning resource.
Prior to joining Oracle, Bernie was a Director for the Technology In Education group at WestEd, a US national educational laboratory, where he led a team of educational technologists in integrating technology into both the instructional and administrative realms of education.
Additionally, Bernie has served in a variety of roles in both education and industry, including executive producer for instruction at Hewlett-Packard Company, where he helped run a state-of-the-art, global, interactive distance learning network. As an instructional designer and educator, Bernie has held a variety of professional educational roles in settings ranging from preschool to corporate training.
Bernie is an active member of a variety of organisations dedicated to bringing 21st Century learning methods to students and teachers across the globe, including a co-chair position on the Board of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills.
